What is a Lash Lift?

Am I a Candidate for a Lash Lift?
Anyone with healthy lashes can accentuate their appearance with a lash lift. However, people with chronic dry eye, watery eyes, eye infections, or sensitive eyes might not be candidates. Sensitive eyes could be easily irritated by the lifting chemical solution.
What to Expect
Your lash lift will start with your aesthetician cleansing the eyelashes and eye area. Next, a silicone curling rod is placed on the upper eyelids against the lash line. The lashes are circled over the rod and a chemical solution is applied, molding the lashes into the curled shape of the rod. This lifting solution is similar to a perm. Finally, a lotion will be applied to your lashes to set them into a curled shape.
For the first 24 hours after your lash lift, avoid water, sweat, and heat exposure. Wait to apply mascara and eye makeup for 48 hours. If you also receive a lash tint, the mascara won’t even be needed! Avoid rubbing your eyes and use a spoolie to brush your lashes daily so that you do not alter the curl. Brushing them will also keep the lashes separated for a voluminous look. Results can last 6-8 weeks depending on how quickly your lashes grow and how well you care for them.
